He took a little child whom he placed among them.
Taking the child in his arms, he said to them,

Whoever welcomes one of these little
children in my name welcomes me;
and whoever welcomes me does not welcome me
but the one who sent me.

Children’s Ministry at St. John’s

Led with love by Cynthia Henders

At St. John’s, children are not just part of the church – they are the church. Each Sunday begins with families worshipping together in the sanctuary. After a special children’s moment with Rev. Heather, our young ones head downstairs for an exciting, hands-on Sunday School experience.

Their journey starts in Morrow Hall, where we gather for joyful singing, prayer, and a Bible story that sets the theme for the day. Then, the adventure continues in the classroom, where the story comes to life through creative crafts or fun, food-based activities – sometimes both! Whether they’re building, baking, or painting, kids explore their faith in meaningful, memorable ways.

We wrap up with prayer and a lively time in the gym, where games and laughter fill the space until parents and grandparents return for pick-up.

Our current Sunday School group may be small, with kids ages 4 to 8, but they’re full of spirit, curiosity, and joy. In fact, we often find that they’re the ones teaching us what it looks like to follow Jesus.

Come and be part of the family – we can’t wait to welcome you!

This winter we are continuing our series on the miracles of Jesus with exploration through story, prayer, crafts and snacks!
